A string of burglaries in Verona has drawn attention to security in the area.
While homeowners on Cambridge Road were sleeping Sunday morning, two masked and gloved individuals entered their house through an unlocked side door, police say. The homeowners reported the incident after reviewing their security camera footage.
Police say they believe the two individuals were unsuccessfully searching for a key fob to gain access to the car in the driveway. They say this is part of a trend.
Three burglaries have occurred within the last seven months in Verona and more across the state.
Police are reminding homeowners about the importance of locking doors and securing their property.
