Yonkers student hit by car hospitalized in critical condition

A Lincoln High School student remains in critical condition after being struck by a car Thursday while walking home from school.
The incident took place at around 3 p.m. in the busy area of Yonkers Avenue and Dunwoodie Road in Yonkers, according to authorities.
Police say the 15-year-old stepped out from behind a bus and made his way down a cross walk when he was struck by the driver of a black Mercedes.
First responders from multiple departments arrived on the scene and rushed the victim to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he is listed in critical condition.
Several witnesses told News 12 the driver of the black Mercedes seemed to be moving quickly. However, police say the driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
