Throgs Neck honors veterans at 41st annual Veterans Day parade
Spectators waved and cheered to show their support for those who have served in the armed forces, as the Army, Navy and Marines each mark their 250th anniversary this year.

Hundreds of people lined the streets of Throgs Neck on Sunday for the 41st annual Bronx Veterans Day Parade.
A sea of red, white and blue filled East Tremont Avenue as more than a dozen flag bearers led the march.
Spectators waved and cheered to show their support for those who have served in the armed forces, as the Army, Navy and Marines each mark their 250th anniversary this year.
Navy veteran Gerald Artz, who served for five years in the late 1960s, was among the crowd. He says he comes to the parade every year to honor his fellow service members.
“Sacrifice for two to 20 years of their life. I mean, it’s a job...so it’s important to keep it alive,” Artz said.
The parade honored men and women from every branch of the military, with school and community groups also participating.
Members of SUNY Maritime marched down the route, saluting those who paved the way for them.
“We wouldn’t have the country without them. Thank you to everyone that has served,” said Chris, a SUNY Maritime student.
