A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Friday in Hackensack, according to authorities.

Police responded at approximately 12:49 a.m. to the intersection of Essex Street and Summit Avenue on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Officers found an adult male with serious injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle. Authorities say the driver fled the scene following the crash.
