Storms moved through parts of New Jersey in the middle of the afternoon on the Fourth of July leaving some people in western Monmouth County without power Wednesday.
According to Jersey Central Power & Light, several hundred people remained in the dark Wednesday morning. The storm was warned for winds up to 60 miles per hour and hail.

Power crews worked throughout the night to repair several poles that were knocked down by the strong winds. Allentown Lakewood Road remains closed west of Sharon Station Road.
There was no estimate on when the repairs will be finished.
In April, an EF1 tornado struck not far from the area and tore up dozens of trees at the Cream Ridge Golf Course.
