A Trenton teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 28-year-old man outside a Camden hospital earlier this month.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden County Police confirmed that a 15-year-old male from Trenton was taken into custody on Aug. 22. The juvenile faces charges of first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

The incident began in the early morning hours of Aug. 1, when Camden County police officers were dispatched to Cooper University Hospital at approximately 2:53 a.m. Responding officers found a stabbing victim who had walked to the facility before collapsing outside the hospital parking garage.

The victim, identified as 28-year-old Davinne Evans of Camden, was pronounced dead at 3:49 a.m.

Investigators later located the primary crime scene near Broadway and Stevens Street. Following an extensive investigation, detectives identified the 15-year-old suspect as the individual responsible for the attack.
