A Passaic man is facing multiple charges after police say he used fake identification and disguises as part of a scam to steal packages from an Amazon fulfillment center.
According to Monroe Township police, detectives spent months on an investigation which led to the arrest of Aneury Castillo-Blanco, 34, of Passaic.
"Castillo-Blanco is suspected of utilizing fake identification documents as well as disguises to operate several fraudulent Amazon delivery routes, during which he would transport packages from an Amazon fulfilment center to a storage unit in Middlesex County," Monroe Township police said in a statement.
The stolen items total $192,199, according to police. Castillo-Blanco was charged on Jan. 9 with theft by deception, four counts of impersonation and 95 counts of burglary.
Police say he was arrested and is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center.
