The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General released the name of the man who was killed in a police pursuit.
The attorney general says the crash happened Sunday morning after police tried to pull over three people riding motorized scooters near State and High streets in Perth Amboy.
Officials say Joseph Acevedo-Rodriguez, of Elizabeth, initially stopped before driving to Woodbridge. The Perth Amboy police officer pursuing Acevedo-Rodrigues made a U-turn back to Perth Amboy.
Acevedo-Rodriguez later crashed in Woodbridge and was pronounced dead at the scene.
