A skydiver was rescued after becoming stuck in a tree about 30 to 40 feet above the ground Sunday afternoon near Skydive Cross Keys, police and fire officials said.

The Williamstown Fire Department and Monroe Township Police Department responded around 1 p.m. March 29 to the area of 278 Hewitt Ave., just north of the skydiving facility’s landing zone, for a report of a skydiver stuck in a tree.

Fire crews used a ladder truck to safely rescue the individual, who was not injured, authorities said.

Officers noted windy conditions at the time, though police said they could not confirm whether wind contributed to the skydiver landing off course.
