A Sayreville man was arrested after police say he blocked a school bus during a dispute involving a bus stop.

Officers responded Tuesday to the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Solook Drive after reports of an altercation between a parent and a bus driver.

Police say 31-year-old Roshan Howington stood in front of the bus, preventing it from moving while several children were on board.

The incident began when a child tried to board the bus at an unauthorized stop and was denied entry by the driver, according to police. Howington then began shouting and physically obstructed the bus’s path, authorities said.

He was taken into custody and faces charges including interference with transportation, obstruction of administration of law and assault.

Police say no children or passengers were injured, and the bus was able to continue its route after the scene was cleared.
