(AP) - A 38-year-old East Hanover mother andher two children were found unharmed in Baltimore on Sunday, justdays after they disappeared from their home.
Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi said Patricia Schafer,her 13-year-old son, John, and 3-year-old daughter, Jessica,were in a vehicle that was leaving the Towson Town Center Mall whenit was stopped by Baltimore County police at 6:25 p.m.
Patricia Schafer will be charged with interfering with thecustody of the children and will remain jailed in Maryland pendingan extradition hearing this week. It was not immediately clear ifshe had retained an attorney.
Bianchi said East Hanover police and county authoritiesdetermined Schafer was in the mall complex, so mall security andthe Baltimore County police were notified. Mall security thenfollowed Schafer's vehicle until the county police arrived.
"The children are in good health and their father is on his wayto pick them up and bring them home," Bianchi said in a statementissued Sunday night.
Schafer and the children were last seen by her husband in theirhome on Thursday morning.
