A 20-year-old Passaic man turned himself in to police Tuesday morning in connection with a Fourth of July shooting that left three people injured.

Passaic County Prosecutor confirmed that Orlando Bravo, 20, was arrested on July 21. He faces a slew of charges, including first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, and multiple weapons offenses.

The investigation stems from an incident on July 4 at approximately 8:30 p.m., when Passaic police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Essex Street and Third Street following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered three Passaic residents suffering from gunshot injuries: a 22-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, and a 34-year-old man. All three victims were rushed to a hospital in Paterson for treatment as officers secured a crime scene.

An investigation identified Bravo as the suspect responsible for the holiday shooting. On July 21 at around 8:30 a.m., Bravo surrendered at Passaic Police Headquarters, where he was taken into custody without incident. The surrender was coordinated with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force.

Bravo has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree aggravated assault.

If convicted on the first-degree attempted murder charge alone, Bravo faces 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.
