A man is accused of trying to kill a woman in Clifton for being Mexican.

Shairo Gil allegedly went into a grocery store, went up to the clerk and tried to stab her in the chest with a knife.

According to investigators, Gil was targeting people of Mexican descent.

Gil is in jail on multiple charges, including attempted murder and bias intimidation.
