According to police, a heated standoff occurred between
security guards and eight male residents, who demanded control of a hall inside
the detention center.
A union spokesperson told News 12 that the tension has been
ongoing for at least three days now and started after some residents snuck out
of their unit to fight rival gangs.
Eight residents were placed into custody.
