A suspended Vineland police sergeant was indicted for allegedly using his position to obtain child sex abuse material.
Christopher Ortiz was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, official misconduct and tampering with the welfare of a child.
The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General says that Ortiz requested the materials from a subordinate relating to a case associated with the Vineland Police Department, along with possessing at least 100 items related to child abuse.

He could serve a maximum of 15 years in prison if he is convicted.
