6ds agoA funeral mass was held today for 18-year-old Dariel Vasquez, who tragically died fighting the Greenwood Lake fire.
Services took place at at St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw.
Flags on state buildings are flying at half-staff in his honor.
Vasquez, a Ramapo High School graduate, was helping create a fire line when a tree fell on him. He is remembered as brave, strong, and proud of his work.
