A truck crashed into a house in Point Pleasant Beach along Route 35 on Wednesday afternoon. The homeowner, his wife, and 15-month-old son narrowly escaped the impact.
Dashcam video shows the moment the truck first slammed into a telephone pole then wedged inside a home on McLean Avenue and Route 35. No one was inside the home at the time of the crash.

Christopher Cochran, his wife Tanya, and their baby had just left a minute or so before the crash to grab a sandwich.
“We've been going through all the scenarios of everything. You try not to, but you just really think like one small change of one small thing,” Cochran said.
Moments before this impact, he sat occupied with work on his laptop with his 15-month-old son nearby.
“The room that is adjacent to where the truck came through is our living room, which also right now is the playroom for our son,” Cochran said.
As first responders rushed to the scene, Cochran says he counted his blessings but realized his cat Mowgli was nowhere to be found. The cat was later found hiding under the bed.
The driver of the truck, Ronald Bennett, 55, of Point Pleasant, was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital, according to police. There were no other reported injuries.
The crash happened right in front of the train station. Point Pleasant Beach volunteer first responders are located within blocks of where the incident occurred. They were on scene within minutes, News 12 New Jersey was told. Crews remained on the scene Thursday morning, cleaning up the damage.
The truck that lost control took out a utility pole. Point Pleasant Beach police say this briefly knocked out power to around 550 customers, including several businesses. Jersey Central Power & Light restored power on Wednesday, according to police.
There is no word yet on why or how Bennett lost control of the truck. The incident is being investigated.
