A 22-year-old Pleasantville man was sentenced to five years in state prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to charges stemming from four separate criminal cases across Atlantic County.

Khalid Haraksin was sentenced in Mays Landing. Under the negotiated plea agreement, Haraksin received concurrent prison terms totaling five years for second-degree eluding, third-degree resisting arrest, fourth-degree resisting arrest and third-degree conspiracy to commit theft.

The sentence resolves a series of incidents involving law enforcement that spanned several years.

The most serious charge stems from a Nov. 3, 2023, traffic stop in Atlantic City, where Haraksin allegedly abruptly put his car in drive and sped onto the Atlantic City Expressway, putting a patrol officer in danger. He received a five-year prison sentence for second-degree eluding.

In a separate incident on Aug. 9, 2024, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office detectives were executing a search warrant on West Pleasant Avenue in Pleasantville when Haraksin allegedly fled on foot despite commands to stop. He received a concurrent five-year sentence for third-degree resisting arrest.

Haraksin was taken into custody on Sept. 23, 2025, after Pleasantville police spotted him on an e-bike. Police said Haraksin abandoned the bike and fled through several residential backyards before officers found him hiding during a yard-to-yard search. That incident resulted in a concurrent 18-month sentence for fourth-degree resisting arrest.

Additionally, an Atlantic City police investigation found that Haraksin conspired with others between October 2021 and February 2024 to fraudulently deposit funds belonging to local businesses and individuals. He received a concurrent five-year sentence for third-degree conspiracy to commit theft.

Haraksin had been held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility since his arrest during the September 2025 e-bike pursuit.
