Three employees are facing charges after an undercover operation found vaping products were being sold to minors in West Milford, police said.

The West Milford Police Detective Bureau recently conducted an undercover operation at six establishments to ensure compliance with New Jersey laws prohibiting the sale of electronic smoking devices and e-cigarettes to anyone under 21.

Police said three of the six businesses visited sold vaping products to an underage buyer. The clerks involved were issued municipal court summonses for selling tobacco to an underage person, a petty disorderly persons offense.

Authorities identified those charged as:

  • Sukhdeep Singh of West Milford, an employee at the Delta Service Station on Marshall Hill Road.

  • Yaman Ozturk of Haskell, an employee at Puff City on Route 23 South.

  • Kehinde Qudus of Newfoundland, an employee at the Shell Service Station on Route 23.

All three were served with complaint summonses and given court dates to appear in West Milford Municipal Court.

The other three businesses inspected passed the operation by refusing the attempted underage purchases.
