Ocean City council members voted Thursday to
double the fee for daily and weekly beach badges.
Daily badges will increase from $5 to $10. Weekly fees will
increase from $10 to $20.
The city blames inflation and maintenance costs for the increase.
The last time the city raised prices for beach access was 2011.
Beach access is still free in the fall and winter. The new rates
take effect next year
