A former Rutgers golf standout just pulled off the biggest win of his career at the Scottish Open.
Chris Gotterup, who graduated in 2021, won the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open on Sunday, finishing two shots ahead of Rory McIlroy and Marco Penge at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland
The 25-year-old shot a final-round 66 to finish at 15 under, earning a $1.5 million prize and a spot in this week’s British Open
“I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get it out... everyone at home... I don’t know... but I mean... this is just awesome... I’m not going to be able to keep it together,” Gotterup said, holding back tears.
He won his first PGA title in South Carolina last year.
