Police: Woman drives into crowd of protesters blocking Fairview intersection following altercation

A North Bergen woman is facing charges after she hit multiple people Saturday who were participating in a public demonstration in Fairview, police say.
The altercation happened during a walk for the demonstration at the intersection of Fairview and Anderson Avenues.
A group of demonstrators was crossing the intersection and temporarily holding up traffic when a confrontation took place between a member of the group and Linda Roglen, according to authorities.
Following the confrontation, the participants surrounded Roglen's vehicle and she attempted to drive through the intersection, striking multiple people, police say.
Several people had minor injuries and one person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
All injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.
Roglen was charged with careless driving, reckless driving, failure to stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injuries, and failure to report a motor vehicle crash.
Roglen was also charged with four counts of assault by auto resulting in bodily injury.
