The man accused of killing his girlfriend in Wall Township with a machete has been indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury.
Alex Williams was indicted on first-degree murder charges in the May 22 attack on Brianna Greenwood.
It’s a case that shocked the community.
Police showed up at the Glen Oaks Apartments to a bloody scene. Greenwood, 29, had her arm nearly severed above her wrist, according to law enforcement officials.
The shocking incident happened in front of Greenwood’s 3-year-old child, according to court documents.
Those documents also revealed Williams told police he caught his girlfriend cheating on him and admitted making a 911 call earlier that morning where he said he killed her.
Police recovered a machete near the victim. Greenwood died a week later.
The grand jury also indicted Williams on weapons offenses and child endangerment.
As of now, no court dates have been scheduled. Williams remains locked up at the Monmouth County jail.
