A Wall Township man is facing murder charges after police say his girlfriend died due to injuries he inflicted on her during a machete attack.
The victim was found in the parking lot of the Glen Oaks Apartments on May 23. She was pronounced dead Thursday.
Authorities say 24-year-old Alex Williams had been charged with attempted murder in the aftermath of the incident. However, those charges have been upgraded as a result of the victim’s death.
Police also say he is facing charges for endangering the welfare of a child because the woman’s child was in the “general proximity” of the attack.
Williams is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, according to authorities.
