News 12 New Jersey’s Lauren Due was out in Thunderbolt 12 this morning tracking the snow as the state prepares for a chilly weekend ahead.
So far this afternoon, there are no signs of snowflakes or a dusting of snow in Edison anymore, but it's still cold out.
A snowy scene started the day in Newark. Thunderbolt 12 also made its way over to East Orange where streets looked the same. As more cars traveled in Irvington, the tire tracks took over. It took a while for the back roads of Cranford to clear. In Manalapan, kids hopped on the school bus, and Holmdel also enjoyed a few flakes. The salting began in Freehold as winter finally brought in a tenth of an inch of snow and a bitter blast.
From here on out till the weekend, have those winter coats on, Due advises. She says if you have any standing water around your house, salt it. And watch out for leftover icy spots tomorrow morning.
