The City of Paterson installed a new weather alert system in 14 parks around the city to help notify residents and increase safety.
The Perry Weather Alert system features real-time weather monitoring, automated alerts and customizable notifications, so Paterson residents will receive warnings about extreme weather and when to find shelter.
"So this detection system will help us clear out the parks and the fields and keep our public safe," said Mayor Andre Sayegh.
The alert system brings together on-site weather stations, outdoor warning systems and a user-friendly dashboard and mobile app to help keep residents prepared and informed.
