Sleepy Hollow Sprint Triathlon raises money for youth summer program
The race in Kingsland Point Park Sunday began with a half-mile swim in the Hudson River, followed by an 11-mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run.

The Sleepy Hollow Sprint Triathlon attracted about 270 participants as it marked its 17th year in the village.
The race in Kingsland Point Park Sunday began with a half-mile swim in the Hudson River, followed by an 11-mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run.
In addition to the physical component of the race, Ray Kelly, the race’s director, said the event also had a charitable aspect too.
"We started it originally for the Leukemia Society," Kelly said. "Then Make-A-Wish Foundation for about four or five years. The past six or seven years it's been for the Village of Sleepy Hollow['s]...kids summer program."
Kelly said they expected to raise $25,000 for the program.
