Paterson man charged with murder for killing his cousin, prosecutors say

Prosecutors say Darwin Estrada-Cruz was arrested Monday hours after 31-year-old Jorge Estrada-Cruz was found unresponsive in a house on Straight Street and 16th Avenue.

A 22-year-old man from Paterson was charged with murder for killing of his own cousin.
Passaic County prosecutors say Darwin Estrada-Cruz was arrested Monday hours after his cousin, 31-year-old Jorge Estrada-Cruz, was found unresponsive in a house on Straight Street and 16th Avenue.
According to prosecutors, officers from the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area Monday around 2 a.m. on a reported fight. Police found Estrada-Cruz unresponsive inside a basement apartment.
It's unclear how Jorge Estrada-Cruz was killed.
Darwin Estrada-Cruz was charged with first-degree murder which has a sentencing range of 30 years to life imprisonment.
