Passaic County prosecutors say police responded to the area of Straight Street and 16th Avenue around 2 a.m. for a reported fight.
They say an unidentified 31-year-old man was found unresponsive inside a basement apartment. He later died.
There is no word on any arrests. Prosecutors say more information will be released when it becomes available.
