Prosecutors: NJ man charged with attempted murder in Old Bridge hotel scissor stabbing

Prosecutors say police saw Christopher Serrano stabbing a 55-year-old woman with scissors. In response, police shot him.

A Manalapan man was charged in connection with stabbing a 55-year-old woman with scissors at the Hampton Inn in Old Bridge, Middlesex County prosecutors announced on Monday.
Prosecutors say 42-year-old Christopher Serrano, of Manalapan, stabbed the woman on Sunday. It is not clear what lead up to the incident. Officials say the two had an online relationship.
According to officials, police were called to the hotel on Spring Valley Road around 3 a.m. for a report of a disturbance. That’s when they say police officers found Serrano stabbing the victim. In response, police shot him.
News 12 has reached out to officials for bodycam footage.

The victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with multiple stab wounds. Prosecutors say she was treated for her injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
Serrano was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to be treated for his injuries. His current condition is unknown.
He was charged with first-degree attempted murder, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
