UPDATE: Manalapan man charged with attempted murder in Old Bridge hotel scissor stabbing
Police say they shot a man they found stabbing a woman in Old Bridge early Sunday.
Officers responded to the Hampton Inn on Spring Valley Road around 3 a.m. when they witnessed the stabbing.
They shot and struck the man, who is currently being treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
The Major Crimes Unit and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office are now investigating the incident.
