Officials say an Essex County man was sentenced to 28 years in prison for a series of crimes.

Elijah Williams, 24, is a member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips, authorities say.

Williams’ crimes include shooting and killing a rival gang member.

U.S. Attorney Phil Sellinger says Williams brazenly shot rivals, murdering one, paralyzing another and left a trail of blood.

Williams pleaded guilty in April.
