Legendary New Jersey comedian and entertainer Floyd Vivino also known as “Uncle Floyd” has died at age 74, according to his family.
He was born in Paterson and grew up in Glen Rock, where he started his broadcast career while attending Glen Rock High School
“With a heavy heart I am sad to announce the passing of my brother and everybody’s favorite’s uncle, Floyd Vivino. After a 2-and-a-half-year battle with ongoing health issues, his curtain was closed peacefully at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 22” his younger brother Jerry Vivino wrote on a Facebook post on Friday morning.
Uncle Floyd is widely known for his show “The Uncle Floyd Show” that ran from 1974 until 1995 where he performed comedy sketches and had live music performances that launched the careers of many bands.
After “The Uncle Floyd Show” went off air, Floyd went on to perform numerous comedies shows, appeared on TV shows, and later hosted a radio show called “Uncle Floyd on the Radio”
