A head-on crash left multiple people hurt Friday morning in Manchester, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded to the area of Route 70 near mile marker 34 for a report of a serious motor vehicle collision around 7:50 p.m.

The investigation of the case revealed that a 2025 Ford Ranger was traveling eastbound when it attempted to pass another vehicle by entering the westbound lane of travel in an unsafe manner.

The other car was a 2022 Hyundai Elantra that contained a driver and two passengers that were traveling westbound on Route 70 when the Ford entered their lane of travel, causing a head-on collision.

All those involved in the crash were transported to a hospital and are currently listed in stable condition.

Officers say they detected an odor of alcohol from the Ford and observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

A court-authorized drawing of the Ford's operators’ blood was taken at the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad.
