There are a lot of trees in New Jersey – but only two have been to the moon and back.

They are the Artemis Moon Trees. The seeds of these trees traveled aboard Artemis 1 – a mission to the moon two years ago. NASA has been distributing the seeds around the country.

Rowan University got one and planted the Sweetgum tree outside the school’s planetarium. It is named Luna.

The other tree is in Wall Township at the InfoAge Museum. It is now over 6 feet tall.

NASA continues to distribute the seeds. New Jersey could get more next year.
