A youngster from Manchester Township in Ocean County who is known around town as the "Lemon Aid Kid" was honored Thursday.
Police Chief Robert Dolan gave Dalton Sardo a Civilian Service award.
Dalton is a bit of a local celebrity because of his popular lemonade stand.
Last summer, he raised money to support local first responders.
Money went to the Popcorn Park Zoo, a young Barnegat girl with cancer and the larger charity of Alex's Lemon Aid Stand Foundation.
Manchester police piggy backed on his donations by giving $1,000 to childhood cancer research as well.
