A ceremony has held on Thursday to honor five Hackensack firefighters killed on the job 33 years ago.
The firefighters were on the scene of a fire at a Ford dealership in 1988 when the truss roof gave away and they were killed.
Firefighters across the country are now trained to avoid that tragedy because of the Hackensack firefighters’ sacrifice.
