Saturday looked to have the highest number of flyers being checked since Dec. 27.
On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, the airport only reported over 800,000 screened passengers, which is down about 1.5 million from the previous year.
AAA says it is still surprised that it is seeing this many flyers being checked at airports - it expected significantly less.
It cites the number of cheaper flights going out as a potential reason for last-minute flight bookings.
