Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A New Rochelle man is facing charges after officials say he was drunk when he crashed his car into a building and injured five people. Police say they responded to reports of the car hitting the building on Drake Avenue Sunday morning. The driver, Rene Alvarez, has been charged with driving while intoxicated, assault and criminal mischief. All the injuries were not life-threatening.
Six people are facing charges for allegedly trying to sell alcohol to minors in Putnam County. The Sheriff's Office says it did a series of compliance checks over three weeks in each town and village in Putnam. Someone underage tried to buy from several stores without showing proof of age. When the sale happened, police sent an arrest summons to the employee who sold the alcohol.
Brandon Craddock is facing multiple charges in connection with an assault that occurred at the Ulster County Jail. According to officials, a violent altercation unfolded between two incarcerated individuals, during which Craddock allegedly took a wooden cane from one of them and repeatedly struck a different victim. Craddock is now accused of committing several felonies, including assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and grand larceny.
