A Freehold Intermediate School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student is facing criminal charges.
The Monmouth County Prosecutors Office says Allison Havemann-Niedrach, of Jackson, was arrested without incident this week.
An investigation was launched into her conduct earlier this year, according to authorities.
The charges against her include one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say she will remain in jail pending her first appearance and detention hearing at Monmouth County Superior Court.
