A violent fight between two neighbors in a Haverstraw business parking lot — captured on exclusive video obtained by News 12 — is now leading to charges.
The viewer video shows two women fighting outside of a plumbing store along Route 9W, with a child and another adult standing nearby.
At one point, one of the women involved, who appears to have blood on her face, is seen pointing what looks like a brightly-colored, plastic gun-like device at the other woman.
The video shows the second woman briefly running toward the bystander and child before returning to the fight. The two women then continue grappling. A man is eventually seen stepping in to break up the altercation.
Haverstraw Police Chief John Gould tells News 12 the incident happened on April 16.
Police say the object seen in the video was not a toy firearm, but a device used to spray pepper spray. Authorities say the two women involved are neighbors.
Police say 44-year-old Lesvia Davila Barrera, of Haverstraw, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. Officials say she was arraigned and released.
