A 24-year-old former police officer in Mount Laurel was indicted after he hacked into social media accounts of at least 20 women and sent out explicit photos they took of themselves.
Ayron Taylor faces 97 charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, distribution of child pornography and computer theft.
He was also charged with official misconduct because some of his actions occurred while he was on duty as a police officer, according to police.
Taylor hacked into his victim's Facebook and Snapchat accounts and sent nude photos he found of the underage girls and women to their contacts.
The victims all shared one thing in common — they all had student email accounts through Rowan College of Burlington County. Taylor illegally accessed around 5,000 student email accounts.
Taylor became an officer in Mount Laurel after graduating from the police academy in October 2021. The department took immediate action to suspend him following the initial charges.
His next court date is scheduled for March 11.
