The borough of Fair Lawn is encouraging the community to shop local by exploring restaurants and businesses through an annual scavenger hunt.
"The anticipation for this is to connect with the community and just bring more awareness to all the businesses, so the more times people come and spend a little time in getting to know us and how our community is, the better connection we have with our customers going forward," said Jaime Lyn Geduldick, owner of Haus Cafe.
The Fairlawn Chamber of Commerce and Fair Lawn Main Street organize the event, which is now on its third year.
Organizers say it's easy to participate.
All that residents have to do it snap a photo of themselves or their receipt at any of the participating locations and submit it online to Fair Lawn Main Street's website.
The more selfies and places residents shop, the greater chance they will have of being entered into a raffle for a prize.
"I hope we can get more people to get involved and come to the town and be in the businesses and help us out," said Andres Nikoliades, owner of the Fair Lawn Diner.
The scavenger hunt runs until the end of the month.
