Catching a flight in and out of New Jersey could remain difficult through next summer.
The FAA has requested to continue capping flights at Newark Liberty Airport through October 2026.
The cutbacks, which began earlier this summer, were due to staffing shortages and runway construction.
The airport currently allows only 34 flights per hour. That limit was originally set to expire at the end of this year.
The FAA says staffing issues remain and wants to extend the order.
