Multiple people were trapped on a Nickelodeon Universe ride at American Dream after it malfunctioned Sunday afternoon.
Officials at the East Rutherford mall say they quickly worked with the local fire department to safely evacuate all guests from Dora's Sky Railway. They say the ride will not reopen until it’s deemed fully operational.
This is not the first time the megamall has had an issue with its rides. News 12 New Jersey previously reported that a family sued American Dream after a child broke her front teeth on a roller coaster in June 2022.
Also, a helicopter prop at American Dream fell into a pool filled with people at the DreamWorks Water Park back in February. That display injured four people when it fell. An investigation later revealed that there was damage on the wire rope used to suspend the helicopter.
