New Jersey launches new real-time tracking system for rape kits

New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin announced the launch of a new tracking system that will allow survivors of sexual assault to see the status of their rape kits in real time.

A series of Kane In Your Corner investigations found that thousands of rape kits went untested in New Jersey every year, despite the state’s claim that there was no backlog.

Platkin ordered law enforcement departments to test all rape kits that survivors wanted tested in the wake of the Kane In Your Corner investigations.
