A man from Cranford was struck by lightning Sunday inside his garage, according to police.

Police say they responded to the man’s home on Retford Avenue around noon. They say the man was using a power tool when the lightning strike occurred. 

Police say they believe the lightning strike may have charged the power tool and in turn, it injured him. 

The man was transported to the hospital. He is expected to be OK. 

The odds of being struck by lightning are less than 1 million.
