Vaccine advisers to the Food and Drug Administration are set to meet April 6 to discuss the possible need for more COVID-19 vaccine booster shots in the future.
The goal is to look at the process for selecting variant specific boosters, and if the COVID-19 shot schedule should mimic the flu shot.
No official vote is planned. There will be no discussion of any specific products applying for authorization or approval.
