A New Jersey judge is under investigation for posting profane TikTok videos.
Officials say that Superior Court Judge Gary Wilcox posted 40 videos on the social media app between April 11, 2021 and March 4, 2023. They say that he posted under the alias “Sal Tortorella.”
Officials say that some of Wilcox’s videos were posted either inside the courthouse or while wearing his judicial robes.
They say that many of his videos included references to violence, sex or misogyny.
In one video, officials say Wilcox lip-synced with inappropriate lyrics from the Rihanna song “Jump.”
Officials say that in another video, Wilcox is seen wearing a “Beavis and Butt-Head” shirt, “while walking through the courthouse with 'Get Down' by Nas playing in the background.
The song contains explicit lyrics concerning a criminal case and a courtroom shooting.”
A state Supreme Court committee is now investigating.
