Busy Memorial Day weekend begins for travelers. Here’s what to know

AAA predicts this Memorial Day weekend could be one of the busiest in terms of travel since the year 2000.
Over a million New Jersey residents are traveling for the Memorial Day holiday, according to AAA. 91% of those are also traveling by car.
The New Jersey State Police has announced that an additional 100 troopers will be out targeting reckless drivers, people speeding, texting and driving under the influence.
News 12 New Jersey’s Eliecer Marte was at the boardwalk in Asbury Park, where residents say they are ready to have a good holiday weekend.
"It is super busy. Lots going on. Live music, restaurants. Super crowded but it is a good time,” said Kacie Baker.
